We advise you not to use your Sat Nav (if you have one?) as especially at night, it will send you along the A399 which is very slow and twisty. You may find that it will take an hour more than you expect to take due to traffic etc. on the day.)

1. We recommend that from Junction 27 of the M5 you take the A361 to Barnstaple and follow the signs along A39 to the Barnstaple By Pass. Again follow the A361 signs for Ilfracombe. After you cross the river get into the right hand lane signed 'Town Centre' and turn RIGHT at the second set of traffic lights. After ¼ mile, at the next set of traffic lights turn LEFT sign posted B3230 Ilfracombe. After ¼ mile at the next set of traffic lights turn left for Ilfracombe. Straight on at the hospital traffic lights and a ¼ mile further take the junction on the left sign posted B3230 Ilfracombe. This route is pretty and avoids the (possibly) long delays at Braunton traffic lights. After about 10 miles at the mini roundabout follow the road ahead (second exit). At the traffic lights (you are now in Ilfracombe) turn LEFT. Now please move on to paragraph 3.

2. We do not recommend either of the scenic routes via the A39 and/or the A399 through Combe Martin. If you have taken either of these then when you arrive at the first set of traffic lights in Ilfracombe go straight on.

3. After about ½ mile take the first right down hill hair pin junction. Follow the road down taking a sharp left then a sharp right then a left down to the junction (keep over to the right as this is a one way street) at the bottom of the hill, opposite the crazy golf, turn RIGHT. Drive past the church (St Philip and St James) on your right. At the end of this one way road keep over to the left and at the 'Give Way' line turn LEFT and LEFT again at the Sandpiper Pub , turning back on yourself into Capstone Road. THEAvalon is on your right.

ON ARRIVAL: Please read the following carefully and DO NOT DRIVE OFF.

If you can find a parking space in the road please park there to unload at any time of the year (from the 1st November to 14th March there are no restrictions on THEAvalon side of the road. From 15th march to 31st October one hour restrictions apply from 10 am to 6 pm on the single yellow line so you can park at 5pm.. If there are no parking spaces, please stop and double park right outside our door. This is a quiet, narrow, cul de sac please turn off you engine (to protect the environment) and ring our door bell. Please also ignore any other traffic, they will wait. Be ready to unload all your luggage. We will then sort out your parking in one of our reserved off road parking spaces. Please note that these are not as close or convenient for unloading as stopping and/or parking on the road in front of us.
