By Train and Bus. At Barnstaple Railway Station get a Stagecoach 21 Bus (from Bideford) to Barnstaple bus station they run in the winter November 2008 generally at 13, 28 & 43 minutes past the hour with buses on a Saturday at slightly different times. The last bus is at 19:28. The journey takes about 7 minutes. (If there are no buses ask the Taxi driver to take you to the Bus Station (about £2.50). If they refuse (which they have a habit of doing) then ask for their badge number and bring it to us and we will complain to the Local Authority about them.) Then catch the First 3 Bus to Ilfracombe which runs throughout the day at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. It takes about 45 minutes. At the Ilfracombe coach station walk past the end of the coach towards the Ship and Pilot Pub. Turn left at the pub and you are in Broad Street. Ahead of you at the other end of Broad Street is the Sandpiper Pub. Walk up to it and then turn left into Capstone Road, Capstone Crescent and THEAvalon is on the right hand side.

By Train and Taxi. If you know that you will have to take a taxi book one from Ilfracombe in advance (try Fastlane on 01271 866776 it will cost between £20 and £30). If you have to use a taxi from the station taxi rank book the cost in advance or it can cost you up to £50 on the meter.

By Coach At the Ilfracombe coach station walk past the end of the coach towards the Ship and Pilot Pub. Turn left at the pub and you are in Broad Street. Ahead of you at the other end of Broad Street is the Sandpiper Pub. Walk up to it and then turn left into Capstone Road, Capstone Crescent and THEAvalon is on the right hand side.

Walking Coming from Combe Martin we are on the seaward side of the coastal path which will take you down through the cove Car Park and into Broad Street opposite the Coach Station. Turn right and ahead of you is the Sandpiper Pub walk up to it and then turn left into Capstone Road, Capstone Crescent and THEAvalon is on the right.

Coming from Woolacombe down into Ilfracombe you pass the Landmark Theatre. Keep on the path away from the road and follow the path to the left and behind the first houses you come to. The path leads to Capstone Road, Capstone Crescent and THEAvalon is on the left

By Boat From the harbour proceed along the Quay with the water to your left. In front of you you will see a leather goods shop called Lamb Land, walk to the right hand side of it and you will see THEAvalon ahead of you on the right of Capstone Road.
